2D PROJECTS
Projects created with traditional media and Photoshop/Illustrator
Projects in this section would first be drawn in a sketch book from here they would be scanned into adobe illustrator and clean line art would be created based off the sketch from this point the image would be transferred to adobe photoshop where color would be applied as well as lighting and shadowing.
KNIGHTS OF HOUSE TAURUS
In my spare time I will play a board game with some of my friends at the bottom of the image are my representations of the pieces I use. In the universe that the pieces are from they would be united under one great house. In this case they are from the knight house Taurus. I wanted to create a back story for my pieces so they weren’t just pieces. The way the image was composited is I posed the pieces and then sketched them from there I sketched the two leaders of the house hold as well as their house crest. I then took these sketches into photoshop where I cleaned up the sketches. From here I took the images into illustrator where I redrew the sketches so that I would have clean lines. Next I brought the images back into photoshop where I colored and shaded. The final piece I think portrays the strength that the house would.

PINNOCHIO'S GHOST
These characters were created in a character development class. The goal was to take a classic story and put a twist on it. For this project the twist I put on the Pinocchio story is that it was set in the future. Where Geppetto was software engineer and he created Pinocchio an experimental AI. In order to help guide Pinocchio Geppetto gave him a companion jimmy a older wiser ai to help teach Pinocchio. One challenge this project presented is that the main two characters would not only be developed but then design in a turn around so that all aspects of the character could be observed. The actual design was straightforward they were sketched out and then taken into illustrator to create clean line art. They were then taken into photoshop where textures and coloring were added.

PINNOCHIO TURNAROUND
Apart of this assignment was todo turn arounds for two of the above characters

JIMMNEY TURNAROUND
Turnaround for Jimmney

A FACE TO BE HIDDEN
This piece was developed in a drawing class, the overall goal was to not only work with a new medium, charcoal, but to master the art of reduction especially in terms of lighting. This piece was very time consuming, however by taking the time it required the piece was developed beyond my highest hopes. The biggest thing this piece taught me was being patient and not to rush through a piece. The image itself was created by first toning a piece of paper with charcoal. From here I took a darker charcoal as well as a white charcoal and a sock to remove the tone from the paper when necessary. In the end I believe I was able to capture not only the image but the lighting and shadows that were cast on it.

THE POWER OF THE BULL VERSION ONE
This Project was my first attempt at painting on canvas. The raw power that a bull poses has always amazed me so when I had the opportunity to paint one I was excited. The biggest hurdle this project posed was creating the bull in a way that highlighted the muscle that he had. This process took me through two different versions of the bull before working on and finishing the third version.

THE POWER OF THE BULL VERSION TWO
In the second version here I attempted to use a stippling effect to highlight the muscle.

THE POWER OF THE BULL VERSION THREE
In this final version I switched from trying to highlight the muscle through various means to creating stronger highlights as well as a focus on blending the lighter and darker areas together.

SERENITY THROUGH STRIFE
This was my second time working on canvas and this project was a collage where we had to pick 3-4 different images and then combine them into a single image. I have always been fascinated by Naval Vessels so I went with that as one of the main points in this painting. The real challenge in this composition was mastering the size of the three main subjects especially the grim reaper in the middle ground having the emphasis on him reaching out about to grab the ship is what really brings this piece to life.
